I've searched & compared a lot of resorts in and around Vagamon and selected Winter Vale Green Stay. Stayed one night there in a standard room and got much cheaper rate through Agoda. We came there in a late afternoon and little bit surprised with the number of vehicles in the parking lot, and learned from the staff that a lot of outside customers are also coming there just to have lunch, so no need to mention separately about their food quality. The resort is opposite to the Kurisumala entry road, approx. 500 meter from the Erattupetta-Vagamaon main road. Approach road to the resort from the main road is very narrow, but well tarred. You should be careful on the curves because the road is too narrow. Once you reach the resort, then you are entering to a green lush world spread over 30 acres of plantations, a huge real size elephant sculpture will welcome you in the parking. Extremely friendly staff will welcome you in a traditional Kerala style with Chandana kuri (Sandal wood paste applied on the fore head) and with a ginger tea. Reception staffs were very friendly and courteous and gave us a detailed description about the resort. The standard room on the first floor (room no. H-2, above the recreational area) seems little bit old, but huge in size with a balcony and nice external view. They will serve complimentary tea with a snack at a place near the restaurant. Dinner was very tasty and the restaurant staff also very friendly. Complimentary breakfast is fair enough, with more South Indian dishes. Upon check out, they gave us a small present (car perfume), which is appreciated. I strongly recommend this resort to my fellow travelers. A few suggestions to the resort management :- 1. Back side of the standard room (we stayed in H-2), seems abandoned with a dry feeling. I am not sure whether this land also belongs to the resort or not. If yes, a small garden in that area will enhance the look, please try to add some plants there. If that area is not belonging to the resort, still you could make a hanging garden behind the standard rooms. 2. Standard room looks little bit old, please re-paint it, also the A/c and the toilet exhaust fan are making too much sound. 3. Since the resort is spread over 30+ acres of land and the roads are not level, it will be better to have electric buggy golf cars for the usage of guests for easy commutation.

It was an amazing experience. The view was the best. In the resort itself there is every recreation like swimming pool, rain dance, game room and an excellent view point area. Didn’t feel the need to go outside for sightseeing even. Lot of walking area. The rooms were great and the facilities were the best. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a must stay if visiting vagamon.

We stayed at the resort for two nights. Its was an amazing experience....Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was so polite and humble...Food quality also Excellent..The pool was clean ...Breakfast was Excellent and incredibly varied...If you are visiting Vagamon one of the best property filled with Greenery...Deck point was fabulous it's called Bodhi ..... 360°degree view.... Indoor games are superb.... Kids park also Good....property situated near to the Vagamon town...24 hours Rooms service it's a great thing.... They also arranged a trekking jeep safari for us... we were enjoyed ulluppuni off road...My wife and kids enjoyed the trip...Totally worth it..

Money stolen by employee, management comes with strange request

One of the reception employees broke into my roo. and stole Rs. 12.000,-. Luckily they could find out who did it and returned the money. The Management did not offer any compensation, or upgrade. I had to ask for this myself. When I did, they told me I adjourned decide how to compensate, leaving the decision with the client! The following day I decided to leave as I was no longer at peace. I told I would not pay for my stay. But the biggest shock came with their two requests of the management: They asked me not to write the incident in my review and also asked not to inform the booking agency. I consider this request as rude, and unreasonable and not being fair. I think all should be aware there are serious security risks at this resort and the management and owner care more about the good name of the resort then of their guest well being.

One of the best family resort in Vagamon. Location is main highlight and of course it is recommended for family with kids. All the staff supportive and food was good. Recreation club and playing area were good for kids as well as family. We got a room A2 , very nice with valley view from front door. Check in and check out procedures were easy.
